Top stand-out styling items for a vintage-inspired wedding

Morning everyone! One of the biggest arguments I hear against vintage-inspired wedding styling is that it’s too “samey”. Some industry professionals complain that they’d rather not see the same old bunting, suitcases, cupcakes and teacups over and over again. Well personally, I love bunting, suitcases, and all of the above – that’s why every single item appears at my wedding! But there are ways to make a vintage-inspired wedding look really unique and special. Here are my top stand-out styling items that you might not have seen at a wedding before:

Milk bottles and creative straws

A fabulous idea for a wedding with lots of kids (or big kids) bring out these cute milky treats at the end of the party as a midnight snack! Go all out with glass milk bottles, or save with plastic milk bottles, available from a multitude of sellers on Etsy.com. You can serve as a milkshake or with cookies for extra cuteness – style with dots, stripes or florals – the possibilities are endless!

Cocktail and lemonade urns

Lots of couples are having a cocktail toast instead of champagne for that rustic summer wedding feeling (and to save a few pennies!) Be effortlessly chic with some beautifully styled cocktail urns and save on waiting staff by letting your guests serve themselves!

Photo frames and mirrors

It’s a common myth that photo frames are only used to show pictures of past family weddings. False. Look at the pretty way frames can be used throughout your wedding – as table numbers, with beautiful pictures of flowers clustered together, as menus… mismatched frames can really make a statement!

Lace tablecloths

Instantly give your wedding that vintage feel with lace tablecloths instead of standard linen. This works especially well over wood tables. Use alone or with floral table runners if you’re giving your wedding a summer picnic feeling. Whether you’re having a rustic celebration or an opulent wedding, lace makes everything instantly beautiful!

A vanity table

These stunning pieces of furniture are perfect for special styled areas or for your “getting ready” shots to add something really special. You can even use a vanity dresser as your cake table – swoon!

Alternative bunting

Bunting doesn’t have to be lots of little flags (although that’s gorgeous too!) If you want something hanging but don’t like traditional bunting, why not try these two variations on doily bunting? Or the below torn fabric inspiration? They’re all easy to make and make a huge impact!

Outdoor furniture

Already own some beautiful vintage furniture? Why not bring it with and style some outdoor areas of your wedding? Little love seats, junk yard doorways, intimate tables, even chandeliers (hang these carefully!) just make sure it’s all in your dry weather plan!
