My husband goes even further – he is part Viking, loves the cold and rain and runs the risk of spontaneously combusting in bright sunlight. He prefers to spend the summer indoors with the curtains closed, watching the cricket. :)

When booking our summer family holiday this year Mr R was suggesting Disney world (it makes my skin crawl at the thought, but the kids would probably love it…). I asked for a breakdown of the temperature in July August. He got no further than ’30’s’ until I said, hmmm, what is the point of holidaying somewhere I WILL BE GRUMPY (then came the 90% humidity and which point I was rolling on the ground WITH LAUGHTER that he had had the audacity to even moot it as a suitable destination). We are off to Canada. There is a breeze. And it’s normally mid twenties. Which is my maximum. The northern European and Irish blood in me is strong. I am rarely cold.
