Happy Friday everyone! The Darling Lovely Life team is thrilled to announce that we are very lucky to have taken on a brand new beauty correspondent.
With over eleven years’ experience in the industry, Jules Cardozo-Marsh has established herself as one of the most highly regarded session and bridal make-up artists in the UK and has become known for creating stunning looks for leading fashion and beauty brands such as Guess, Puma, Schwarzkopf, L’Oreal, Cocosa and Marks & Spencer. Jules’ vast experience in both the beauty and fashion industry has seen her work appear regularly on television productions as well as the pages of glossy magazines.
We thought we’d introduce Jules with a run down of her all-time favourite beauty products which are always in her kit and fabulous for creating flawless, luminous skin for her clients… Over to Jules!
Whether you’re getting married or just want to start a new routine, it’s never too late to start looking after your skin so I love using REN Rosa Centifolia Hot Cloth Cleanser, it’s gentle enough to use twice a day and by massaging into your skin it removes deep down dirt and impurities
I like to apply a toner to make sure all my cleanser has been removed. You can’t fail to love Cosmetics à La Carte Rose Moisturising Skin Rinse. Not only is the smell divine, but it’s oil free and balances the driest of skins, and so it’s great for mature skin.
Depending on your age and condition of your skin choosing the right moisturiser is a little like winning the lottery. We are bombarded with so many products that promise to deliver, cost a fortune and then don’t agree with our skin, before being forgotten in the bathroom cabinet.
To find your perfect moisturiser, ask for a sample to try at home over a couple of days. There are a couple of brands that have a higher success rate. I am particularly fond of Sarah Chapman Dynamic Defence Concentrate SPF15 containing vitamin A, C, antioxidants and omega-rich oils. Another brand worth trying is Rodial, they have products suitable for all skin types and they are great for a pre-wedding treat or luxurious booster. The Super Acids x-treme acid rush peel promises to resurface and refine your skin leaving it brighter and smoother, a perfect canvas for your make up.
Flawless skin fixes
Foundation causes THE most problems, many women choose the wrong shade by testing it on the back of their hand, where their skin is a very different shade to their face. Always test on the jawline in natural daylight to get it right.
Two brands that you simply cannot beat for luminous, radiant skin are Giorgio Armani (Luminous Silk Foundation) and Cosmetics à La Carte. CALC even custom blend to match your skin tone so well worth a visit if finding your perfect match is tricky.
Dr Hauschka Bronzing Powder is perfect for contouring and adding definition without ageing or overloading the face as it is a matt rather than shimmer product.
For a flushed, fresh look I love popping Stila Convertible Colour onto the apples of the cheeks, a lipstick and blush in one. Try Fuschia for an English rose complexion or Gladiola for a sultry summer look.
Bobbi Brown is the queen of eyeshadow and her Nude Glow Collection for Spring 2014 is perfect for creating different looks. You can go natural with a hint of colour or create a wonderful smoky eye using the metallic shades.
Pump up the volume by using Diorshow mascara, a staple in everybody’s kit backstage at London Fashion Week, and a permanent fixture in my make-up bag.
If you’re getting married, avoid wearing lipgloss until after the ceremony as if you are wearing a veil, a gust of wind will have it sticking to your face! Tom Ford has an amazing range of lipstick colours and the texture is wonderful. Perfect for kissing…
And finally, for a good all-round beauty product, try Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, a magical cream with hundreds of uses!
Thank you so much to Jules for sharing her favourite products. Have fun with them, be creative and above all enjoy being your beautiful selves!
