Get the boho living room look

There’s a lot of pastel prettiness on the blog – and that’s how we like it. But today we thought we’d shake it up with a little interiors post about bohemian style. The idea came from a discussion with some friends about what boho style really is. Some people associate it with floral, bright, seventies prints, others think of the original, historical gypsy style, some conjure up Moroccan lamps and soft furnishings while many think of decorations from the far east and new age style.

I would argue that all of the below looks would be considered bohemian – and so here are a few ways to get that boho look in your living room! If you like to be eclectic, that works really well with the boho look, so mix and match as you see fit!

Bold colours and fabulous florals

Mixing bold colours with stylized florals, crochet and cheerful fabrics is one way to get the laid-back hippy look in your living room. Go OTT with floral upon floral or accent plain pieces with colourful cushions and throws.

Moroccan style

To give your living room the Moroccan feel, go for deep, earthy colours and glowing reds and pinks. Candles and tea lights aplenty, cut-out patterns and soft fabrics everywhere.

Gorgeous gypsy decor

The great thing about bohemian gypsy style is it’s totally international and eclectic. Patchwork fabrics, mandalas, dream catchers, objects from far and wide – the key is keeping your colour palette consistent – and deciding when to stop!
