The finalists for the first ever National Vintage Awards have been announced – and I’m so excited and proud to announce that I’ve been asked to judge two of the wedding-related categories, The Best Wedding Dress or Accessories Supplier and Best Vintage Wedding Fair!
Taking place at Fazeley Studios in Birmingham on Thursday 27th June, the NVAs have been created to celebrate the small, independent businesses that keep the vintage scene alive, a sentiment I commend as we love working with real entrepreneurs, sole traders and people at the heart of the UK vintage community!

From January 2013, businesses and individuals that felt they deserve recognition for their hard work and passion for vintage were invited to enter under a selection of categories, including Best Online Shop, Best Vintage Wedding Fair and Best Vintage Fair. Nominees were then put forward for the public vote, before being shortlisted for the final.
Winners will be announced at the ceremony and awards will be presented by the other guest judges including author of Style Me Vintage: Clothes, Naomi Thompson, Vintage Life Magazine and Lynsey Le Keux of The Vintage Salon. Other guest judges vintage fashion expert Liz Trenzenga, Lena Weber, Editor-in-Chief of The Vintage Guide to London and Queens of Vintage and owner of The Vintage Directory, Kate Molloy.
Come along and join in the fun!
The good news is you’re all invited to be a part of the glitz and glamour; the night includes the wonderful Lola Lamour presenting and performing, along with The Tootsie Rollers, plus a free vintage photobooth, free mini makeovers, a glass of fizz, cakes, sweets and ice cream, a vintage fair and goody bags galore, not to mention the after-party hosted by Vintage 78 DJs spinning their records on traditional turntables and professional dancers Jump Jive Swing showing off their moves. It really is THE event of this year’s vintage calendar! Tickets to attend the evening event are available via the website.
