Happy Wednesday everyone! It’s officially the middle of the week *yawn* so we thought we’d post something extra bright and special to get you over that Wednesday hump!
Today’s beautiful real wedding was submitted by Erika at PhotoMadly (second shot by Dade Freeman), a fabulously quirky alternative photographer from one of my favourite cities in the world, Brighton! Emma and Neil wed at St Margaret’s in Rottingdean in April this year. Their gorgeous reception was held at Pangdean Barn in Pyecombe.
As always, I hate to drone on when there’s a recent bride ready to tell her tale, so I’m going to hand over to Emma to tell you all about her and Neil’s big day:
“Neil and I met when I went to school with Neil’s younger brother. It started out as a gig here, and a date to the cinema there and we’ve been together ever since! Neil had hoped to propose romantically on the Downs where we walk the family pugs, but due to circumstances beyond his control, he proposed after work in my parents’ kitchen while I made him a coffee! It was still a perfect proposal and my parents were rather surprised!
We wanted a romantic, vintage feel to the day. No stuffiness or forced timings to the day and thankfully the amazing people at Pangdean gave that to us and more. I wanted to get married at the Church as I grew up and went to school nearby – they made us feel so welcome.
I did most of the organising on my own, no DIY as I’m hopeless and impatient! I knew what I wanted and once I found the right supplier and discussed what I had in mind they took it from there. It’s important you are on the right page but I don’t feel it necessary to control everything if you have the right people.
There were so many entertaining moments at our wedding, the speeches in particular were legendary, but the funniest moment of the day was probably when Neil didn’t understand what ‘troth’ meant during our vows!
