*Yawn* good morning brides and grooms, boys and girls, industry types and general well wishers. So I didn’t get a whole lot of sleep last night – and no, it wasn’t self inflicted, so feel free to pile on the sympathy. Nobody? Ah. Well, anyway, it made me think back to my wedding planning days and how on days like this where I felt like I was going to fall asleep at the screen, the idea of turning off and having to do hours of crafting made me want to hibernate for a year.
One thing that got me through the hours of potential tedium was a cracking playlist to lift my mood, so I’m posting my top five crafting songs that are guaranteed to make you feel good. It’s a bit eclectic (hey, I’m an eclectic kinda gal) I’d love it if you told me all about yours!
A frazzled pre-wedding me doing the last of the crafting!
Five feel good songs to listen to while crafting
Manu Chao – Bongo Bong
A beat that you can’t help dance along to. This is actually where my happy dance (yup, I have a happy dance) originated. So there, a piece of history for you! Anyway it’s fab to craft along to, especially if you’re feeling a little under the weather!
Foster the People – Houdini
Talk about a catchy beat and bleepy techno hook. Love! You can’t help but immediately have your spirits lifted with the disco and eighties influences rolled into an indie package. Amazing! I bet you double your productivity listening to this.
Noah and the Whale – 5 Years Time
Everyone needs a tune to whistle along to. This has everything you need to instantly feel good: a catchy tune, a sweet beat, optimistic lyrics about the future. What more could you ask for?
Eiffel 65 – Blue (Da Ba Dee)
Oh hello there 1990s one hit wonder – I missed you! Welcome back to my world, please keep me motivated while I’m sewing, glueing and snipping. Thank you!
Outkast – Hey Ya
It’s an indisputable feel good classic. Go on, listen to the whole song without moving or smiling! I dare ya!
So those are my top feel good song choices – what do you like to listen to for a pick me up? What gets your crafting juices flowing or just makes you smile? We’d love to hear your comments!
