TGIF guys! Happy Friday! Happy weekend!
I hope you guys all have some lovely plans – congratulations to those of you getting married! Eek! Today I have something so purdy to show you! Rebecca from Chez Bec sent me this gorgeous styled shoot. Elegant, soft and pretty, the shoot brings together some truly fabulous suppliers. I’m so happy to feature this as an exclusive as I love being the first to show you such loveliness! I couldn’t actually believe it when I read there were only two models – it was styled so well they look like totally different girls throughout the shoot! So without further ado, here’s Rebecca to tell you a little bit more about the concept and the day!
“Put three ladies together at a sparkly awards do (The Wedding Ideas Awards 2012), add a little champagne and what do you get? A collaborative shoot with a vintage twist of course! This was a collaborative shoot with Chez Bec, Claudine Hartzel and Lara Crudgington and their team of wedding industry professionals. Shoots are a lot of work to put together and quite stressful on the day but they are equally great fun to do and the results are always worth it. We were extremely lucky to have the shoot styled by the wonderful Jenna Schiller of LuckySixpence Events.
Our photographer, Claudine Hartzel has worked with Chez Bec on various shoots. Claudine is a wedding photographer with a fine art background and over 20 years’ experience. Jenna Schiller and her team at LuckySixpence Events love to create unique and distinctive celebrations. Having met Jenna at my brother’s wedding, she quickly impressed both me and Claudine and seemed the most natural choice to style our shoot for us.
We wanted to do a vintage-inspired, quirky shoot and we needed a venue to reflect this. The George in Rye was absolutely perfect for this! The building dates from 1575 and has enviable heritage; it even has an original Georgian ballroom used for lavish weddings. An eclectic and contemporary design has been given to this historic fabric using a wide range of antique and modern furniture, materials and local art. The result is a comfortable blend of old and new, and a venue to die for.
The utterly stunning professional model and actress, Alice Christian, has been the face of Chez Bec since the year dot and there is no one else who can model the brand as well as she can. We just had to have Alice! We were also thrilled to have Alice’s beautiful sister, Juliana with us on the shoot. What a beautiful double act they are!
When it came to hair for the shoot, we were lucky enough to have the super duper Rosie Kors at Lovehair and Lucy Alexander. Both created the most wonderful collection of hair styles for our shoot. We have worked with the lovely Lara Crudgington on several shoots and she is a fabulous make up artist. Lara works with brides, celebrities and private clients all over London and the Home Counties.
With my very own bridal boutique in Tunbridge Wells, Isabella Grace, it was only natural to take a selection of our stunning dresses along for the shoot. It would have been rude not to!
The day was fantastic from start to finish. Everyone in the team worked incredibly hard and the results speak volumes for themselves. We are all absolutely over the moon. Claudine is not only a great photographer but she has also become a very good friend of mine. So much so that she now photographs all family occasions for us, from family weddings to christenings and special birthday shoots. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend every single member of the team to anyone and I cannot wait to work with them all again soon on another shoot.”
