Morning everyone – just a quick word from me, I’m off on an adventure into London tahhhhn! I just had to show you these gorgeous pictures by the one and only Elly Mac Photos before I left!
Shot entirely in black and white at The Electric Cinema, Birmingham, Kelly and Lee had a beautiful 1920s flapper and dapper theme, everyone, including the guests dressed up from the 1920s. The couple chose this particular venue because the art deco building suited our 20s theme and it’s the oldest cinema in the UK.
The bride, Kelly, says: “The reception venue was The Old Joint Stock, Birmingham. They had never held a wedding reception before but we loved the decor inside, ol fashioned with large chandeliers. We had a drinks reception on the mezzanine level that overlooked the entire bar and then we mooved up stairs to a private room for a sit down reception, this room was also an old theater.”
“I knew I didn’t want to wear a wedding dress so I didn’t go to any bridal shops instead I just researched the Internet and found a company in the US that make reproduction 1920s dresses called Leluxe Clothing. The dress came from Hollywood, California and the dress was a beaded gown reminiscent of the 1920s flapper era. I got my Ostrich Feather Fascinator from Batcakes Couture, shoes from Next and Lee’s outfit was from Moss Bros, top hat and tails, black and white shoes with a cane.
“The cake and flowers were made by Natasha Higgins, the wedding stationery was all designed and made Lee and our wedding co-ordinator – Hayley Milczarek @ Orchid Occasions. We were lucky to meet Hayley who worked at the The Old Joint Stock and is also a wedding planner! She was great, gave us lots of ideas and inspiration and helped organise our reception.”
“Finally, Elly from Elly Mac Photos was our photographer. Months ago when we booked our wedding and chose the theme we knew Elly Mac Photos was the ideal photographer to capture the day and she didn’t let us down. She captured every moment of our day perfectly in such a relaxed unobtrusive manner even paying attention to the little details that usually go unnoticed.”
