Back when Under the Vintage Veil was a fledgling blog with a different name, I went to one of my first ever industry networking events. At the time I was a bit miserable in a job with a two and a half hour commute (each way) and not much to be inspired by. That’s where I first met Sangeeta and Olivier, the brilliant husband and wife team behind the gorgeous bridal jewellery brand, Olivier Laudus. Having brought John along for moral support, we were thrilled to find that there was another boy for him to go off and play with and I got chatting to Sangeeta – a chat which sparked the motion of a whole new life for me that I hadn’t dared to think was possible before.
Sangeeta was so positive and encouraging about me following my dream, and so sympathetic about my career woes, it really got me thinking. And since then Sangeeta has been behind me, cheering on this little venture every step of the way. As impressed as I was with Sangeeta and Olivier as human beings, I was equally impressed when I saw their beautiful work.
In July 2011, Olivier Laudus opened its studio near Bond Street, London, for personal consultations and Olivier Laudus is fast becoming one of the big players in bridal jewellery. I predict an even brighter future the studio, and I feel so lucky to be able to show you the new additions to their already fabulous collections.
With Britain taking centre stage this year as the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and with the 2012 Olympics fast approaching, what better time to celebrate the best of British talent? Olivier Laudus has been hard at work with some fantastic British designers and has introduced a fabulous new range of quintessentially British bridal accessories to the Artisan Collection. From dreamy bracelets and earrings to vintage-inspired necklaces and headbands, the focus is on understated and affordable luxury with pieces featuring Crystallised Swarovski Elements, freshwater pearls, beautifully cut diamante stones and lace. So here are the new pieces – I hope you’re sitting down because they’re pretty swoon-worthy!
