You must know my policy by now. When I’m really, really impressed by something, I shout about it. Well, yesterday I came across something more than worth shouting about. Nestled in the pretty Kent town of Tunbridge Wells (a short train ride form central London) is a gorgeous treasure of an experience, Frou Frou Bridal Boutique. My reason for visiting was part of the organisation for Under the Vintage Veil’s first birthday party (#veilbash).
With a stock of stunning gowns, Nicole and Helena were more than happy to come on board as partners for the event and we were planning out a little something extra. If I’m honest, I was after beautiful dresses, and people who were great to work with. I’d heard good things about Frou Frou Bridal Boutique, from very reliable sources, but hadn’t put much thought into the boutique itself having only spoken to Helena and Nicole over the phone. And then I arrived.

My first reaction was “John, get the camera, my brides have to know about this.” And get the camera he did. There are no words to describe the beautiful décor, detail and character. The thought behind the branding leaves me absolutely speechless. I was literally running from corner to corner of the shop, making noises only dogs can hear each time I discovered something new and delightful. I can’t actually describe this place in words, so our digital camera pics will have to do. We’re not professional photographers, but we hope we’ve managed to capture even a fraction of how pretty this shop is!
And then I got to the dresses. If I got the impression that a lot of thought went into the décor of the boutique itself, then the process behind choosing each dress was mind blowing. Not one dress didn’t have a real process behind it, a bride in mind, a story. From the UK’s finest designs like David Fielden, Stewart Parvin, Matthew Williamson and Lyn Ashworth to shining stars from the USA like Sarah Seven and Ivy & Aster, each gown was elegant, chic but with a quirky twist.
When I first went into the shop, I’d honestly pretty much intended to discuss our project and also to do a quick write up of Frou Frou Bridal’s sample sale, but rarely am I so excited about a fabulous experience that I have to share it with my brides. Brides who’d like that “extra mile”, home away from home shopping experience, who are after a “wow factor” dress, this is definitely the place to go – sit and sip on tea from Pip Studio china and make dress shopping the best part of your wedding planning. Even I (who thought I was totally done with wedding shopping) couldn’t resist a cheeky purchase! Look how pretty!!
