An Alice in Wonderland real wedding

Morning everyone – I’ve added a little disclaimer, UTVV HQ has been struck by a terrible stomach bug *sob* so I may be slower in responding to comments, tweets and emails than usual. All tweets have been pre-scheduled so if it looks like I’m ignoring you, I’m really not!

But on to happier things – imagine my glee when this landed in my inbox. Bethan of Haywood Jones Photography sent me this gorgeous Alice in Wonderland themed wedding. I absolutely LOVE the styling ideas in these pics and I hope you get as much out of it as I did!

On shooting the big day, Bethan said: “Louise and Simon make my heart do a little dance. They are such a gorgeous couple, full of love and fun. I had an amazing day shooting their wedding, and was very lucky to be a part of it all.”

“Louise and Simon both work in events and see a lot of weddings between them! When they were planning their day, they wanted something a little bit different and threw in a few surprises to keep their guests entertained. They chose to hold their wedding at Leighton Hall in Shropshire as they wanted to create an Edwardian-style house party atmosphere.”

“Louise and Simon are big foodies, and even named their tables after food combinations like bangers and mash and strwaberries and cream. They gave all their guests little pots of jam as favours which were home made by Louise’s mum. They also did away with a traditional wedding cake and dedicated a whole room,( I kid you not is was AMAZING) to a mad hatter’s tea party spread. They managed to keep it a surprise until after everyone had eaten and the speeches had been made. Then Simon asked all the guests to follow him into another room for *cutting the cake*. Everyone poured into the room and there was many a popping eye! The table was covered in edible treats like chocolate chess sets, fondant toadstools, rice paper playing cards and just about every type of delicious cake you can imagine. They even had a giant french fancy as their main cake. It was incredible”
