A rustic multicultural real wedding – Jerica and Ricardo

Happy Sunday everyone. As you might have noticed by now, UTVV goes oddly quiet on a Saturday. That’s because, with less than 4 months to go until the wedding, Saturday is pretty much the only day both John and I are home to get on with the wedding planning! So for the next few months, Saturdays will be quiet. But I promise I’ll make it up on Sunday with a big, scrummy real wedding! This one is just lovely, so I’ll hand over to Gemma from Gemma Gaskins Photography to tell you all about this rustic real wedding.

“This wedding ceremony took place at Pip and Jays Church in Bristol where about 250 guests arrived. This is a church that both Jerica (bride) and Ricardo (groom) go to on a regular basis so everybody knows and loves them both dearly.”

“Jerica and her family are from the Philippines and Ricardo is from Brazil and they are both just gorgeous. They wanted to incorporate both traditions which is, and was very crazy but also completely amazing and GENIUS at the same time. It was so lovely to see people from completely different backgrounds so truly in love with one another!”

“I loved the fact that Ricardo walks down the aisle first with his mum then the bridesmaids and ushers follow arm in arm, Jerica’s mum walks down the aisle afterwards and waits half way with out turning round to see her beautiful daughter walk alone to meet her meanwhile Ricardo is turned looking directly at Jerica walk down the whole aisle with tears in his eyes and a massive smile. Jerica wipes tears from her cheeks as she approaches her Brazilian husband to be.”

“All readings were read in there families own languages and there vows were written personally for one another. This is were I held my breathe as i’m still unsure if its a little strange for your photographer to cry at your wedding? I really get to know my couples well so seeing them overwhelmingly happy is a real tear jerker! After the ceremony the wedding breakfast follows with only very close friends and family (about 65 people), keeping costs down but also making it far more intimate.”

“For every part of this wedding family and friends chipped in to help in order to save on costs. Jerica is at acting school/university in London and Ricardo is a dancer/performer (hence the jumping image!)”
