Under the Vintage Veil’s Valentine’s round up

Happy Monday folks – I’m very excited about Valentine’s Day this year – my last one as an unmarried gal! But I know a lot of you out there are probably in a blind panic! So to help you out, I’ve put together my top picks for Valentine’s Day cards, gifts and gestures! They’re not all vintagey but meh, I’m feeling gushy. Enjoy!

Pop the question – with cake!

What better way to say it than with cake? Just in time for Valentine’s day, one of my all-time favourite cake designers, GC Couture, has prepared a special proposal cake! If you’re planning to propose, this gorgeous cake, in the shape of a ring box is such a sweet way to pop the question. With the ring cleverly concealed in the icing cushions, how could she (or he) possibly say no?

Happy couples can then celebrate with a delicious (believe me, I’ve tried their cupcakes) cake! Perfect!

The cakes cost £25 with a £15 delivery charge to central London and the immediate M25 area. Unfortunately due to the delicate structure of the cakes, they can’t be posted but customers outside of the delivery area can collect directly from GC Couture’s Watford HQ.

To order a cake in time for Valentine’s Day, order by 6th of February by calling 01923 228165 or email sach@gccouture.co.uk

A rose by any other name…

I know I blogged about how I prefer alternative cards, but I really can’t resist the smell of roses! Ananya Cards has produced these beautiful rose-scented cards for Valentine’s Day and I have to say I’m a fan! The scent adds a vital dimension to the card, bringing it to life, evoking feelings of love and memories of special moments and an added depth to the words penned by the sender. The price for these is £5.50 for Valentine’s Day card with white envelope and £6.50 for Valentine’s Day card with red tissue lined envelope. All prices include UK postage.

For couple looking for something extra special to add to the mix, Ananya Cards can design your own exclusive monogram, with your initials intertwined together (as above) for £125 and can add it to the rose-scented card for an extra £5.

To order, email info@ananyacards.com by 6th February 2012.

Forget diamonds – Swarovski hearts are a girl’s best friend

Finally, what kind of Valentine’s post would this be without a little jewellery? Introducing the romantic swarovski Valentine’s collection from Lobster Love. These beautiful bracelets are made from sterling silver chain in the shape of little linked hearts are innovative in design as they can be fastened at any point along the chain to suit the wearer. This leaves the swarovski heart dangling and catching the light and removes the problem of bracelets not fitting properly.

Orders need to be placed by the 5th February as everything is made to order, they will be delivered gift-boxed so perfect for the 14th February.
