I’ve got to be honest, the “traditional” hen party doesn’t do it for me. There’s nothing wrong with it… it’s all subjective. It’s just that the idea of getting in a limo, draped with feather boas and cheesy accessories and then going out on the piss really isn’t my cup of tea.
So I decided to go on a quest to find alternative hen party inspiration. I’ll be posting these weekly – please let me know if you run or have been to an awesome hen party that broke the mould lately. I’d love to hear your ideas!
First up is the Wedding Camper hen picnic and photoshoot. The Kent-based company takes the hen, plus five of her ladies away in Bo-Blue, a gorgeous vintage VW camper van, to a lovely location nearby for a picnic and champagne.

The girls are then professionally made up for a 1hr professional photoshoot with Fleur Challis before drinking up the champagne and heading home.
I’m a big advocate of photoshoot hen parties. I know they’re not for everyone and that some people are a little camera shy, but they’re a great way to bond, do something you’d never normally do and keep a record of it forever. Next week I’ll be covering vintage pin-up shoots… ooo err!
Wedding Camper is running a competition to win one of its hen parties! Check the Wedding Camper website for more details on how to enter.
