You may all know the lovely Kelly from La Belle Amour. Well, before she started a vintage hire and planning company, she was a bride – and had a beautiful shabby chic wedding. *Warning – gorgeous bride alert!
Here’s Kelly and Mikey’s story – in her words.
“We met through friends and got together in 2002! Mikey proposed on my birthday in 2009 after taking me out for a ride on his motorbike (my first time on a bike) to a romantic breakfast in London. He got down on one knee when we got back to our apartment (whilst I’d turned around to put my motorcycle helmet down)!! We decided to marry a year later on 10th September 2010, almost a year to the day and the day before my birthday!”
“We chose Sussex Barns in Burnham Market in North Norfolk. We are both from Norfolk and I spent a lot of my childhood on the North Norfolk coast so it seemed perfect!”
“The barn is very rustic so we thought a shabby chic vintage theme would suit. I absolutely loved the vintage mirror with our tableplan on, it took me ages to do, but it was worth it! We had a mixture or cream birdcages & candleabras which were filled with flowers for our centerpieces. The birdcages had little birds perched on top of the flowers, so cute! Also I found the cutest little bride & groom doves cake topper. I made all of the invites, placename and dinner menu cards. They followed the theme, featuring a birdcage on the design.“
“The evening was topped off with entertainment by my friends Marija & Adam singing our song “Touch Me” by Rui Da Silva. We also had a Punch & Judy show for the children, ice cream van and a hog roast! I wish I could do it all again and I wouldn’t change a thing!”
