So what’s it all about?
Well, I know there are LOTS of directories out there, but when I first started looking for suppliers, I’ll be honest: I didn’t have a clue how to find people who got what I was trying to achieve.
As a blogger, I know who to get in touch with instantly. As a bride? I’m not sure I would. There’s so much out there in the shabby chic niche, but it’s so hard to find the right supplier in your area unless you know exactly what you’re looking for.
So I decided to attach a directory to the blog. It will cost suppliers a mere £30 for a full year and will have the following features:
- Only suppliers who are niche providers of shabby chic or vintage-style products or services will be listed. I realise this is somewhat subjective, but effectively, if you’d see it on my blog, it will be in the directory.
- Suppliers will be searchable by both profession and location. For example, if I wanted china hire and I was based in Surrey, I could search these options and the relevant supplier in my area would come up. This is beneficial to brides as it helps them find what they’re looking for quickly, but also to suppliers as they will only appear when the bride is close to the point of sale or is serious about finding them.
- The directory will be part of the Shabby Chic Bride blog in its own tab and will enjoy the same site traffic etc. as the main blog.
I’ve already had significant sign up and it’s all looking very promising. If you’d like to feature on the directory, please email firstname.lastname@example.org - please bear in mind that your business must fit the shabby chic niche.
The directory goes live 1st December 2011.
I look forward to working with you!
